Description

Gerard Philipe buckles his swash as the eponymous hero FANFAN LA TULIPE. A womaniser and swordsman, during the French Reign of Louis XV, Fanfan is being encouraged to marry a recent conquest, a mere peasant girl, but tries his best to get out of it when his future is foretold that he's due to marry to King's daughter. This romantic comedy adventure won Christian-Jaque the 1952 Cannes Film Festival award for Best Director.
