Tintin et Moi is based on a grave conversation Hergé had in 1971, during several days, with Numa Sadoul, who was still a student at the time. In the course of the interview, Hergé points out how the allusions and the underlying psychology of Tintin were intimately related to the tensions of his private life.The interviews, of which 14 hours of original audio material have been preserved, constitute the backbone of the documentary. This film is a kind of epic biography, built around the recordings made by Numa Sadoul (actor and writer). It especially takes a close look at the link between comics created by Hergé and a man's need for artistic expression. Tintin et Moi hands the floor over to the vanished artist, who traces his own portrait.
Award winning director of Tintin et Moi Anders Ostergaard studied journalism at the University of Aarhus (Danish School of Journalism 1991). His last three documentaries are The Magus (1999), which won best documentary at the 1999 Odense Film Festival, A Burning Issue (2000) and Malaria (2001).
